I have mentioned before that I love sports both for watching and discussing (and even running a little bit).
A social networking site called sportsgist is a place where athletes themselves can connect with other athletes. On the website you can read blogs, watch videos and photos, chat, participate in forums and much more. You can also be more active and add content to sportsgist like writing your own blog posts or add videos. You have to become a member of the site to add content and with a membership you get several benefits.
It contains a section for College recruiting video where you can find a lot of useful information.
You can also watch High school sports live if you are interested in that and if you are interested in joining a college there is a section for College Recruiting where you get tips and tools. You can also read the latest news from the world of sports on the sportsgist website.
It is really nice to see that social networking sites are getting a bit more diverse and specified as social networking can be a great tool to get information and get connected with people that have similar interests. I have been using social networking sites for several years so I welcome this trend.
A nightclub in London called “Surya” claims to be the first ecological nightclub in the world. Among the aspects to make the nightclub eco is free admission for walkers and cyclists.
The club has a cool dance floor that produces electricity when the clubbers are dancing on it. The floor is based on something called piezoelectricity where crystals and ceramics generate electricity. Read more about piezoelectricity on Wikipedia.
Among other things that make the club more ecological are usage of solar panels, wind turbine, waterless urinals and low flush toilets.
The clubbers also have to sign a pledge that they will try to reduce their carbon emissions to help against global warming.
According to Reuters there is another concept in Netherlands called Sustainable Dance Club that says they will be the world’s first eco-club when they open a club in September since the London-based club is not fully sustainable.
Honestly this seems like a stunt from someone wanting to make a quick buck on all the environmental hype, but kudos to Andrew Charalambous (the owner of Surya) if he actually is able to make a difference.
It seems the older I get the more addicted I get to watching sports. I also love to discuss sports with other sports fanatics and a great place to find good discussions is internet forums.
An internet site where you can discuss different types of American sports is addict sports. On this website you can discuss football picks, college football picks and lots of other subjects.
Head over the addict sports if you are a sports fan like me.
More pictures on my photo blog from Northern Norway.
I recently cut my 3 year old dreadlocks because I was tired of all the fuss that comes with this kind of hairstyle. My hair took a pretty heavy beating as a result of having dreadlocks for such a long period of time.
A product that can help with revitalizing my hair is Moroccanoil Hydrating Mask. This mask can be used on all hair colors both natural and colored, and all types of hair. It works by using a teaspoon (a bit more if you have longer hair) of the mask which you apply to your hair from scalp to end and let it work for 5-10 minutes. After the 10 minutes you rinse your hair with water.
This treatment helps getting life back into your hair, restores shine and manageability. Sounds like a product that might work for my hair.
The company that sells Moroccanoil Hydrating Mask, Cosmetic Magic, have a lot of other different hair products in their online store. They stock products from well known brands such as L’Oreal, Redken and Wella so there should be hair products for most uses.
They even have a section their website for testimonials where you can read what customers say about the store.
Cosmetic Magic ships to all states in the US, but not to international customers at this time.

Good news from Germany! According to Spiegel Online Germany are planing to build 30 offshore wind farms containing 2,000 windmills in the North Sea and Baltic Sea. The wind farms are supposed to help Germany reach their goal of getting more energy from renewable sources. As Germany are planing to phase out their nuclear plants by 2020 they really need to find some alternative energy sources. Since the current government is pretty right wing I doubt that they are keen about closing down all the nuclear plants.
I wrote earlier about that Norway are planing on building some enormous wind parks. Seems like the North Sea will be crowded with windmills.
I hope it will make a difference!
Learning based on computer courses can be very effective in some situations. One example of a type of course that can be taught with computer based training is excel training.
There are also courses for leadership skills that can be very helpful.
Another type of training where computer based training is available is pmp training (project management training). This is a great alternative to regular classroom training.
Illegal logging is a big problem in Mexico with over 64,000 acres (26,000 hectares) being chopped down every year. This makes Mexico one of the countries that are loosing their forests at the most rapid speed.
Last week Mexicans all over the country planted over 8 million trees trying to counteract some of the destruction of the Mexican forests.
The planting was done by volunteers and even the Mexican President, Felipe Calderon, planted a tree (although that sounds like a big PR stunt to me).
There were some criticism from Greenpeace because they believe that the tree planting will not solve anything and the government should do more to stop the illegal logging.
I agree with Greenpeace, but I find it positive that the Mexican government is showing positive signs of taking more care of the environment.
