Knitting a pair of ragg socks for a friend

ragg socksMy latest knitting project is a pair of ragg socks that I’m making for my good friend Jone. He helped me with designing the front page of my photo calender for sale over at Cafepress.

This kind of ragg socks are very typical here in Norway. I guess the reason is that we need something to warm our feet during the cold, long winter.
The socks are very easy to knit once you have remembered the design and it’s good way to use all your left over yarn.

Stay tuned to see the final socks.

Judging by the yarn, they look like they’ll be soft and warm.

I’d love a pair of those! It’s so cold here in Los Angeles, it rained yesterday! Ha….I bet it’s colder where you are. But I’ve gotten to be such a wimp since moving from New York 25 years ago. It’s really embarassing.

For the body of the sock, did you mix a grey and off white yarn together, or just use a yarn that was made with the grey and white twined together? What weight yarn did you use for the project? The socks look great! Just the thing for inside boots in the cold.

    Stay warm!

@ Ann: The yarn is blue/grey and white twined together. That kind of yarn is
very common for sock knitting here and the cheapest yarn you can get.
The weight I don’t know, sorry.
Will try to stay warm :)
